About PokeIdle - A turn-based Pokemon roguelike game

The goal is simple: you play with pokemon in pokeidle, and you fight wild pokemon. You gather a pokedex, a Shiny pokedex, and you grind for the 100%. The game was designed to stay extremely simple. You lock in a route and let pokeidle play itself, focusing purely on the core loop of pokemon progression and pokedex completion.

The updates were light over the past years, mostly aligning pokeidle content with newer pokemon games and expanding the available pokedex. Over time, it became clear that the game needed more depth while preserving its idle nature, taking inspiration from classic idle mechanics while keeping pokeidle approachable for both casual pokemon fans and completionists chasing a full pokedex.

On December 25th, a massive update for pokeidle was released after months of beta testing. This update introduced meaningful gameplay changes while maintaining simplicity, ensuring that training pokemon and filling the pokedex remains intuitive.

Here’s the changelog for pokeidle, focused on improving long-term pokemon progression and pokedex depth:

Prestige System: When your pokemon reaches level 100 in pokeidle, you can prestige it for a permanent percentage bonus to all stats. Wild pokemon can also have prestige levels, adding challenge and variety while working toward your pokedex.

Route Encounter Rates: All routes in pokeidle have been reworked to match official pokemon games. This allows future regions to expand the global pokedex logically, enabling encounters across regions.

Subroutes: Certain routes now include subroutes in pokeidle, such as Surfing or Rod-based areas, increasing pokemon diversity and adding more strategic depth to pokedex completion.

Team and Storage Rework: To support the prestige system, teams in pokeidle are capped at six pokemon. Any additional captures are sent to storage, keeping pokedex progression clean and manageable.

Evolution Rework: pokeidle now lets you choose evolutions for branching pokemon, eliminating forced cycles and ensuring every entry in the pokedex can be obtained logically.

Special Pokémon: A unique pokemon has been added to pokeidle with an extremely low encounter rate, offering an ultimate challenge for dedicated pokedex hunters.

Healing Rework: Healing mechanics in pokeidle now rotate your active pokemon, making experience farming and pokedex optimization more strategic.

Route Colors: Routes in pokeidle now visually indicate whether all base pokemon have been captured for that area, helping players track pokedex completion more easily.

Due to these large-scale changes, many routes were temporarily removed from pokeidle. However, regular updates are planned to reintroduce and expand routes, steadily rebuilding the full pokemon experience and global pokedex.

Numerous QoL improvements are also coming to pokeidle, including UI refinements, auto-prestige options, and advanced route settings, all designed to streamline pokemon training and pokedex management.

Note: Older saves are not compatible with the new pokeidle version. Legacy support will be provided so long-time pokemon players can still access their previous pokedex progress.

If you’re a returning player, enjoy rediscovering pokeidle with fresh pokemon systems and a deeper pokedex. If you’re new, welcome—and feel free to join the community for feedback, discussion, and tips.

Thanks for playing pokeidle and helping shape the future of this pokemon idle experience and its ever-growing pokedex.
